I decided to challenge myself my junior year and pursue an honors project my senior year. It was all cool during my spring semester last year when I said I’d do honors. However, the summer before senior year, I spent the whole time debating whether I really wanted to do honors and what topic I wanted to study.
I went from I’ll do honors, this is my topic to “nope, honors ain't for me!” This went on until October of my senior year…to stay I was well behind on my project…I was and still am a lot behind. I finally learned to accept myself and my topic of choice in my grad class that I really enjoyed! Also, I have the first part of my honor paper written! I’m making moves now!
I’ve learned a ton since starting this project. The most important lesson is to ask questions to trust myself and just do it. Yes, I’m behind but my study is finally approved and I have 28 responses! Every day I have more responses and that’s what matters to me and will matter in the end.
Wish me luck. I defend on the last day of March and I haven’t analyzed my data 🙂
