The movies are a lie. Like we know they are, but we don’t really believe until we experience it. For me, the movies and books all lied about college. Well partly lied.

If you want fun and adventure, wild nights, and no regrets, you have to go and do them. I started college Fall 2019, I spent like 5 ish months as a college student and then spent a year and a half at home. That put a real damper on life. For one, I’m not a party girl. I’m pretty shy and get nervous doing new things so when the pandemic hit, I went back into my shell and it’s super hard to come out. But I do want to do new things.
So I’ve found ways to have fun and make my own stories my own way.
I’ve gone to a few parties, just to experience them and see what they are like. I love dancing so I’m currently president of the salsa club on my campus, but I want to go out and dance. Before when I said I’ve been to a few parties, I meant it. A few. So, my goal this year (not just my last semester in school), is to go out and find clubs or socials, even dance classes, to do what I enjoy.

To end on a positive note, I’ll share my latest experience at a club. I bought these cute tops last year and never wore them so I decided to wear one of them. I repeat again I’m shy particularly when it comes to talking to people and my body. This top had my chest all out (actually it had 4 circles down the middle) and I almost changed. However, I didn’t. I went out, froze my whole body waiting in line, and danced without a care with my friends.
Knowing that I can do these things means a lot to me and I’ll continue to allow these memories to guide my journey.
Til next time,
-Livin’
